LEARNER APPEALS POLICY

This policy is only applicable to learners of Accredited Training courses and certifications.

Purpose:

The appeals policy is a process that allows learners to challenge a decision made by a training provider they believe is unfair or unjust. The policy provides learners with an opportunity to have their concerns heard and reviewed.

Scope:

The policy applies to all learners enrolled in training programs provided by Digital Skills Company. The examinations may be set and marked by either Digital Skills Company or by an external Examination Authority. Examples of the Examination Authorities include BCS, APM and EXIN.

Dissatisfaction with an assessment decision is not grounds for an appeal. If you are unhappy with your result, we can arrange a feedback session so you can understand how to improve.

How to Appeal:

Learners must follow the following steps to appeal a decision made by the training provider.

    •  The learner must submit a written appeal within ten working days of receiving the decision.
    •  By email: send an email to [email protected] with "Appeals" in the subject line
    •  In writing: send a letter to AIMEE PROJECT LTD, Sentinel House, Ancells Business Park, Harvest Crescent, Fleet, Hampshire, GU51 2UZ addressed to the Complaints Manager
    •  The appeal must include a clear and concise statement of the grounds for appeal and any supporting evidence.

How an Appeal is handled:

    •  Where an examination is set and run by Digital Skills Company, the appeal will be recorded in the Examination Appeals Register, and the appeal will be considered by one of the Digital Skills Company tutors with knowledge of the subject in the appeal.
        •  Upon receipt of an appeal, we will acknowledge the appeal within 3 working days. The acknowledgement will include the name and contact details of the person who will handle the appeal and an estimated timeframe for resolving the issue.
        •  We will investigate the appeal promptly and thoroughly, and keep the you informed of the progress of the investigation. If necessary, we may request additional information.
        •  Once the investigation is complete, we will provide you with a written response detailing the outcome of the appeal. We will aim to provide this response within 10 working days of receiving the complaint.
      •
    •  Where an examination is set and run by an external examination body, the appeal will be sent to the appropriate body for consideration. The communication may then be directly between you and the examination body, or it may be via Digital Skills CompanyFor Examinations set and run by BCS/EXIN, BCS Appeals policy applies https://www.bcs.org/media/3274/learner-appeals-policy.pdf
